FG Is Plotting To Use Boko Haram Members To Assasinate Nnamdi Kanu In Prison’ -IPOB
The Federal Government has been accused of
plotting to use Boko Haram members to
assassinate the detained leader of the
Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu.
IPOB claimed that members of the terrorist group
would stage-manage jailbreak, and that in the
process of exchange of gunfire, security agents
would shoot Kanu as the prime target.
The pro-Biafra group had last year raised alarm
over an alleged plot by the government to use
operatives of the Department of State Services,
DSS, to assassinate Kanu in prison.
It alleged that it authoritatively gathered that
those plotting to kill the IPOB leader had
reversed the original plan of using non-traceable
poison to assassinate him in prison and resorted
to a new plan of direct assassination, using Boko
Haram terrorists who are in custody in Kuje
Prison.
However, spokespersons of the group, Emma
Nmezu and Dr. Clifford Iroanya, in a statement
disclosed that IPOB intelligence source tipped-off
the leadership hierarchy the new plan, adding
that the assassination attempt was further
corroborated by the terrorist attack alert Minister
of Information, Lai Mohammed announced on
Friday.
