LAUTECH VC, Bursar Quizzed by EFCC for 'Diverting Varsity Fund'
The EFCC on Wednesday invited the Vice
Chancellor of the Federal University of
Technology, FUTA, Akure, Adebiyi Daramola, to
answer questions on fraud allegations leveled
against him.
He was joined at the EFCC office in Ibadan by the
Bursar of the university, Emmanuel Oresegun.
Both men were quizzed based on allegations of
abuse of office and misappropriation of funds
reported against them, Zonal Head of Public
Affairs of the EFCC, Ayo Oyewole, said.
The anti-graft agency said it is investigating
allegations of “corruption, fraud, criminal breach
of trust, unlawful enrichment and conversion of
millions of Naira of the university,” for personal
use
“The Vice Chancellor allegedly drew furniture
allowance annually instead of once in 4 years as
approved and was paying himself housing
allowance while residing in the University’s Vice
Chancellor’s Quarters,” Mr. Oyewole said.
He said the petitioner also alleged that the Vice
Chancellor diverted funds from various unrelated
subheads to finance other projects without due
process.
