The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, met with
Pope Francis on Tuesday in Assisi, the hilltop town
in central Italy where Saint Francis was born.
The Pope Francis who took part in the final
meeting of the World Day of Prayer for Peace,
was excited to meet the Nigerian Islamic leader.
The World Day of Prayer for Peace has concluded
the 3-day event which saw the participation of
over 450 religious leaders of different faiths who
gathered to pray for peace and strengthen
dialogue in the spirit of Assisi.

The Federal Government has complained about the country’s over-dependence on imported products and the ridiculous amount spent to get these products. Chief Audu Ogbeh, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, described the situation as ridiculous that the country spends over $18million (about N5.6 billion) annually on importation of tooth picks.
