WAEC plans to release results 60 days after exam

The West African Examinations Council, WAEC, says it plans to reduce the waiting days for the release of its West African Senior School Certificates Examination (WASSCE) results to 60 days. The Head of National Office of WAEC in Nigeria, Olu Adenipekun, told the News Agency of Nigeria that the waiting days will now be 60 days as against 90 days previously. Mr. Adenipekun spoke with NAN on the side-line of the council’s 65th anniversary celebration which began on Thursday in Lagos. Amosun Signs Bill To Formally Upgrade MAPOLY To University

The Ogun State-owned Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta has been upgraded to the Moshood Abiola University of Science and Technology. Governor Ibikunle Amosun, on Monday, March 13 signed the bill to that effect. Also signed into law is the bill to establish the Ogun State Polytechnic, Ipokia, in the Yewa area of the state. Amosun signed the bills during the State Executive Council meeting at the governor’s office in Abeokuta. He said the MKO University, which would operate a multi-campus system, was expected to boost science and technology in the state. The News Agency of Nigeria reports that this is the highest honour bestowed on the late MKO Abiola, the presumed winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential poll, rated worldwide as one of the freest and best elections in the history of the country.The administration of the late Head of State, Gen.
